Polish Ambassador to the Philippines H.E. Jarek Szczepankiewicz has informed that the Philippine Air Force now awaits the delivery of 16 brand new Sikorsky S-70i Black Hawks (Lockheed Martin) from Poland’s PZL Mielec.
The much-needed combat utility helicopters will be used to transport troops and supplies, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, and are said to be delivered in batches starting 3rd quarter of 2020.
The PAF previously mentioned that they need around 100 combat utility helicopters to effectively meet the needs of the entire Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Department of National Defense (DND) signed a contract worth around 12 billion pesos with Lockheed Martin’s Polish subsidiary PZL Mielec to deliver 16 units of Sikorsky’s S-70i Black Hawk combat utility helicopters for the Philippine Air Force.
