NCPRO Cops Sent to Mindanao Who Went AWOL Face Administrative Charges – Bato

MANILA – Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa on Monday said, “the policemen from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) who went on AWOL (absent without official leave) for fear of their security, when they were deployed to Mindanao, will be held liable.”

According to Dela Rosa, these NCRPO policemen should indeed be afraid now because they were not afraid when they got involved in illegal drugs.

The PNP chief said that they should face whatever will be the penalty to be imposed on them.

Law enforcement officers who went on AWOL face administrative charges.

Dela Rosa stressed that these policemen on AWOL should not have been policemen if they cannot fight it out with the criminals.

More than 200 policemen from the NCRPO were transferred to Mindanao for their alleged involvement in illegal drugs.

It was heard that the said policemen also feared for their security after SPO4 Marcelo Alkansiya was killed and PO3 Allan Yulo was injured in an ambush in Parang, Maguindanao last Sept. 5.
