High Altitude C-130 Munition Offload – RIMPAC 2016

Due to the airfield’s elevation of more than 6,000 feet above sea level, C-130 landings here are rare. Marines with Transportation Support Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 3, Combat Logistics Regiment 35, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force offload ammunition from a C-130 at an airfield near the Pohakuloa Training Area, Hawaii, in support of Rim of the Pacific 16, July 7.

RIMPAC 16 is the world’s largest international maritime exercise, and provides a unique training opportunity that helps participants foster and sustain cooperative relationships that are critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world’s oceans. RIMPAC 16 is the 25th exercise in the series that began in 1971.
