Philippine Navy Personnel and US Marines Meet in the Construction Field

Philippine Navy Sailors with 3rd Battalion, Combat Engineer Brigade and U.S. Marines with Combat Engineer Platoon, Marine Wing Support Squadron 172, along with local Philippine volunteers work together to begin construction on a new classroom for the Elementary School of Maoyon in Palawan, Philippines on Sept. 13, 2014. The construction is part of the Humanitarian/Civic Assistance programs leading up to Amphibious Landing Exercise (PHIBLEX) 15.

PHIBLEX is an annual, bilateral training exercise conducted by the Armed Forces of the Philippines, U.S. Marines and Navy to strengthen interoperability across a range of capabilities to include disaster relief and contingency operations.
