The amphibious landing was fully integrated in planning and execution to highlight both nations’ growing ship-to-shore capabilities. Philippine Army and United States Marines participate in a simulated combined amphibious assault shoulder-to-shoulder at the Naval Education Training Center in the Philippines, April 2015. They came ashore in amphibious assault vehicles to take a hostile beach head during the simulated assault.
The training event was the start of exercise Combined Vigilance, the Philippine and U.S. Marine field training exercise within Balikatan 2015.
