The amphibious landing was fully integrated in planning and execution to highlight both nations’ growing ship-to-shore capabilities. They came ashore in amphibious assault vehicles to take a hostile beach head during the simulated assault.
The training event was the start of exercise Combined Vigilance, the Philippine and U.S. Marine field training exercise within Balikatan 2015.
