Philippines – Taiwan Agreed Faster Guidelines On Hiring Workers

An agreement reached at the sixth ministerial conference between labor ministers from the Philippines and Taiwan indicating that the workers from the Philippines will be able to travel within  two to three weeks.

Both countries will make more efficient regarding the application procedures for direct hiring and will also help employers directly hi Filipino workers without having to go through brokers.

The Philippines agreed to provide information on quality workers, while Taiwan for its part agreed to help employers to hire Filipino workers.

The possible jobs that they may have are workers in the manufacturing and construction sectors,  caregivers,  housemaids or families through the selective hiring system.

The agreement will  also benefited  Filipino workers around NT$ 24,000 (34, 258 in Philippine currency) per person that they previously had to pay to the brokerage firms upon hiring.
