Recently Antonov An-124 Ruslan heavy strategic airlifter arrive in Clark Air Base today, bringing the Philippine Air Force Bell AH-1S Cobra attack helicopter. This information is confirmed by the Maxdefense community lately.
The attack helicopter, Bell AH-1S Cobra gunships previously used by the Royal Jordanian Air Force and were offered to the Philippines in 2017.
The confirmation about the agreement came after the Philippines and Jordan signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Defense Cooperation between the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army and the Department of National Defense of the Philippines.
Philippine Air Force (PAF), helicopter pilots and crews, have been sent to Jordan to begin their familiarization training on the two AH-1 “Cobra” attack helicopters donated by the Jordanian government.
The Bell AH-1 Cobra is a two-blade, single-engine attack helicopter manufactured by Bell Helicopter. It was developed using the engine, transmission, and rotor system of the Bell UH-1 “Iroquois.”
Despite claiming that the helicopters are only for a delivery by 2020, the PAF’s internal reports did say its November 2019, and this is it. The Antonov An-124 is now bringing the aircraft.
